This article helps you resolve the error that occurs in Microsoft Outlook 2016 that is displayed in the picture below:

This prompt occurs because Office 365 needs you to either set up your multi-factor authentication or periodically confirm your recovery number/email address. Because we currently use Office 2016, the desktop version of Outlook cannot load the "webpage" that is created to allow you to sign in, giving you the error.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Double-click the "Outlook for Web" icon on the desktop.
  2. Sign in with your Arc Wayne email address and computer password
  3. Once signed in, it will say, "your organization needs more information." Click next.
  4. From here, your experience may vary based on factors such as whether you have registered a cell phone to your account or not.

You will need to follow the prompts until you get to the Outlook for web inbox.

The following picture is an example of what you will see if you have NOT yet set up a phone number with your account.
  5. Once you get to your email inbox, go ahead and try to close the Desktop version of outlook, if you have not done so already, and open it again. The "sign-in" windows will pop up, load, and go away.

Your Microsoft Outlook 2016 should now work as intended!
